"The soul, the psychic being, is in direct touch with the divine Truth, but it is hidden in man by the mind, the vital being and the physical nature (manas, prana, anna of the Taittiriya Upanishad). One may practise Yoga and get illuminations in the mind and the reason; one may conquer power and luxuriate in all kinds of experiences in the vital; one may establish even surprising physical siddhis; but if the true soul-power behind does not manifest, if the psychic nature does not come into the front, nothing genuine has been done. In this Yoga, the psychic being is that which opens the rest of the nature to the true supramental light and finally to the supreme Ananda. Mind can open by itself to its own higher reaches; it can still itself and widen into the Impersonal; it may too spiritualise itself in some kind of static liberation or Nirvana; but the supramental cannot find a sufficient base in spiritualised mind alone. If the inmost soul is awakened, if there is a new birth out of the mere mental, vital and physical into the psychic consciousness, then this Yoga can be done; otherwise (by the sole power of the mind or any other part) it is impossible. If there is a refusal of the psychic new birth, a refusal to become the child new born from the Mother, owing to attachment to intellectual knowledge or mental ideas or to some vital desire, then there will be a failure in the sadhana." – Sri Aurobindo

Though the Mother’s main Mission of Supramental Manifestation was completed an 29th February 1956, She continued further, in Her immense Love and Compassion for Earth and humanity to make the journey to the Future still shorter and easier. From April 1962, the yoga took a crucial and decisive turn, whence the Mother completely withdrew into Her room to dive deep into the body’s nether mysteries. Only the eye of faith or an inner revelation received as a gift of Grace can tell us how far she went blazing into the Inconscient Night. Success and failure have no meaning there since each inch forward is a great Victory.

Er verlie? sich so weit wie m?glich auf Sri Aurobindos ?bersetzungen und Umschreibungen, die im Rahmen der laufenden Prosa der „Essays ?ber die Gita“ geschrieben wurden. Sri Aurobindo ?bersetzte manchmal ganze Slokas, manchmal nur einzelne W?rter oder S?tze; einige Slokas lie? er un?bersetzt. Diese ?bersetzungen decken etwa ein Drittel des Textes der Gita ab. Es sei erw?hnt, dass Sri Aurobindo die ?bersetzten Passagen nicht als Teile einer fertigen ?bersetzung der Gita ansah.
Die hier vorgestellte ?bersetzung der Gita wurde erstmals 1938 in „The Message of the Gita“ herausgegeben. Sri Aurobindo genehmigte dieses Buch zur Ver?ffentlichung, machte aber in einem seiner Briefe deutlich, dass die ?bersetzungen in den Essays „von mehr erl?uternder Art als textlich pr?zise oder in einem literarischen Stil gegossen“ waren. So entstand in den Jahren zwischen 1927 und 1938 das gewaltige Werk und Lehrgeb?ude der „Briefe“, die in die Tausende gehen und jeden nur erdenklichen Aspekt des Integralen Yoga behandeln. Sie sind eine wahre Fundgrube vielf?ltigster Unterweisung und in ihrer Unmittelbarkeit vielleicht von gr??erem praktischen Wert als seine „gro?en“ Werke, die er zur Ver?ffentlichung schrieb.
